Regularly Scheduled Dances - Open To The Public - Continued
German ClubGwinnett Seniors Dances - Bethesda Park at the Ronald Reagan ParkwayThe German Club usually meets every 1st Saturday/month, except that there are No Dances in
June, July & August. The December Dance is also a dinner, held at a special place, is usually semi-formal
and for members only. There is also a picnic for members only in late May. The monthly dance varies in theme,
but dressy casual is OK. Sometimes there are many stag-singles to dance with and sometimes there are none
(it seems better for singles in the Winter and Spring)! They meet at the KOC. The dance is from 7:30 pm - 11:30 pm; [single/married;couples/some stag]; German Food is available for a reasonable price; Live Band; they play Waltzes, Polkas, Latin, Swing & Slow; More varied than expected, but the majority are Waltzes & Polkas!
$ 5 members - $9 Guests. There is no WEB Site; but you can call the KOC to get information at: 404/636-9237.The German-American Club - Schedule Page

There are two regularly scheduled dances at the Gwinnett Senior's Center. Originally one of them was for singles only, but that has changed, and all are welcome at both dances now. They are currently held on the First and Fourth Friday of each month. There are two spacious dance floors and a live band, directed by Johnny Knapp. If you go to one of these dances, be sure to tell Johnny hello and that you are a friend of Guzzy's. He is a good personal friend and I used one of his bands for my daughter's Wedding Reception. He is always accommodating and will play most any request. His fabulous bands play a variety of Ballroom, Latin, Rock, Swing, Slow, etc. There is usually a good crowd. Sometimes there are lots of single-stag attendees to dance with and sometimes there are only a few. Often a group, such as Barbara Head's Dance Classes will meet there for a specific dance. [single/married;couples/stag]; No Alcohol; No Smoking; $6; Snacks; 7:30 pm-10:30 pm; There is no WEB Site; but you can call the Senior's Center to get information at: 770/564-4680; Or call J.R.. for the Fourth Friday Dance at: 770/978-1519. Two Dances Every Month:Northlake Mall Big Band Style Dance
Every First Friday/month;. The Senior's Dance - Music is provided by the Atlanta-New York Connection (formerly the Larry LaViola Orchestra), under the direction of Johnny Knapp. The late Larry LaViola was a fixture on the Atlanta Music & Entertainment scene for many years, and his tradition of providing fine dancing music is being carried on in his Memory by the Atlanta-New York Connection. Occasionally we get to hear the Singer Dolly O'Dell, at this dance. She is a Dynamic Entertainer, and not just a great singer. Be sure to meet her, tell Dolly hello and that you are a friend of Guzzy's.Every Fourth Friday/month; The Senior's Ballroom Dance - Meet the amicable Host, J.R. Stallworth, and be sure to tell him Guzzy sent you. Music is provided by the Johnny Knapp Band.Gwinnett County Senior's Center - Bethesda Park Area Map Gwinnett County Senior's Center - Bethesda Park Detailed Map

Held in the Food Garden Area of Simon's Northlake Mall; This dance was started as an experiment and has become a favorite of many. It is held the LAST Tuesday of every month. Some have been confused, and think it is the fourth Tuesday, but it is the last Tuesday, normally. If there are conflicts, such as a Holiday, it is occasionally changed to a different Tuesday. Yes, it is held in the Food Garden Area - dance around the Fountain !!! It is really a lot of fun and there is a live band, the Atlanta-New York Connection (formerly the Larry LaViola Orchestra), under the direction of Johnny Knapp. Originally it was the Larry LaViola Orchestra (Johnny played keyboard for Larry), but we unfortunately lost Larry late in 1999. There is NO ADMITTANCE CHARGE - it is by far the best free dance you can attend !!! The dress code is usually dressy casual to dressy. [single/married;couples/stag]; 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm; No Alcohol; No smoking; For information you can call Simon's Northlake Mall at: 770/938-3564; BUT, sometimes they are not aware of the dance or any details !
